About Beta Installmen Uploads

What is a Beta Installment Upload?

If you are a new reader here and are reading a novel that is clearly listed as being a 'Beta Installment Upload' you are reading the story as I write it. I upload new chapters as soon as they become available to me...literally. Wherever the installment ends you can rest assured that is the exact same spot I'm in with the story and there really isn't anything else at that time. I do this because I like the spontaniety of it and because I hope it offers the Reader the opportunity to take the same ride as the Writer. You get all of the frustrations, the highs and the lows, right along with me. (For a really bonzer dose of stuff like that you can Join Me On MySpace and read my blog!!)

When I first began uploading my novels in 2003, because they were originally uploaded to a mailing list, they went out to the list in 'installments', the list allowed 10 per day. When I moved to my own site I kept with the tradition of doing the novels in installments for the reasons stated above and because one of the best stories I ever read was The Green Mile by Stephen King. It came out in installments, one per month for six months. It was the best thing ever as far as I'm concerned. I couldn't wait to get the next book, I loved the anticipation. While not comparing myself to the Grand Master in any way at all, I hope some of my Kind & Gentle Readers will find a bit of anticipation between uploads. All short stories are uploaded at one time in final format.

When you reach the end of an installment, please don't get frustrated because there isn't more or it seems to be taking a long time. Kindly please don't read the beta uploads if you're the kind of person who is easily frustrated, doesn't like to be teased and just can't stand typos--I do my best to proof-read and spell/grammar check all material before upload--then you're better off waiting until the announcement is made that the novel is available in "Final Draft Format" and no longer says 'beta' on its homepage. This way you'll be able to read straight through without major cliffhangers and frustrations...typos, however...well, I'm human and I don't have an editor. I make mistakes and they slip through. Sue me.

I hope that answers any questions out there.
