The Blue Moon Awards Celebrates the Best in Stargate SG-1 (and Stargate SG-1 only) Fandom with an Adult Flare. Voting Is Now Open
This program was created to hold up and shine a light on the more adult side of Stargate SG-1 Fandom. Often these works are either politely overlooked or outright banned by other awards programs. Let's face it, our favorite show hit the airwaves more than 10 years ago, the movie...almost 20! So that means a great deal of SG-1 fandom is way over 30. Like a fine wine, we're not getting older, we're getting better, more mature and full bodied. Since we are a bit older, we can still appreciate the more Disney side of life we're really more interested in late night IFC, if you get our meaning. The Stargate SG-1 Blue Moon Awards Program accepts artwork, videos, websites and fiction in 'ship', 'slash' and 'gen'. Works without sexual content but that are more adult in nature are very welcome and should be freely nominated. We love rich humor as well as dark comedies, gripping suspense, intense drama, tear jerkers, on-the-edge-of-your-seat action/adventure, romance, and of course, erotica and sensuality. We also love fan artwork that's truly eye catching. Anything that's well-crafted, best suited to and appreciated by a more adult audience. This program is unique in many ways, chief among them being that we seek never to interject our own opinions into the program but to hold up what you, the viewing public, likes and wishes to honor with your nominations and votes. As such, all awards given out by this program, including so-called 'Special Awards' are voted on and determined by participating fans. You can find out more about us and what we do by clicking here. As always, this program is open to anyone who wants to participate and there are NO banned authors or creators. ALL SG-1 creators are welcome to particpate in this program no matter the rating of their work. Winners and nominees from 2006-2007 may be freely nominated again this year since we missed so much of 2007. Please see the Qualifying Works & Categories Page along with the Rules & FAQs Page for more detailed information. Viewing our 2006-2007 Winners will also help to give you an idea of the types of works we're looking for as well as putting you in touch with some fantastic SG-1 artwork and fic. You might also wish to check out the Latest News On The BMAs including currently open categories. Categories are opening and changing all the time. A full and final list won't be known until it's time to vote on July 25, 2008. Notified nominees can find a little 'I was nominated' graphic for use on their pages on the updates page and begin using it right away. Since we missed most of last year our nominations period is open longer than most other programs. This is so people have time to find out about the re-opening of the program. We'd appreciate it greatly if you would help spread the word. The more people who take part the better! Remember...your opinion counts! Since this program re-opened on March 25, 2008 |
