General Rules & FAQs
1. How many nominations can I send in?
As many as you like for other people
Yes, you may nominate up to five of your own stories and works of art. Kindly click let us know that you’re nominating yourself. 3. How many times can I VOTE?
ONCE! Votes and nominations received from anonymous surfers will be rejected automatically.
You may vote in as many or as few categories as you like but you may vote only ONCE in each category.
4.Can I have more than one story/work of art in one category?
Yes a nominee may have up to 2 STORIES in any one category/subcategory and up to 3 works of ART in any category/subcategory
5. Can I have works in more than one category?
No, you must choose a single main category for your work
6. How many nominations are required for a category to open?
There must be a minimum of three nominations per category for any category to go forward.
This means there must be at least three nominations for three different people.
7. Can I tell people I want to be or that I am NOMINATED?
YES! Post to your blog, tell your mailing list, tell your friends...spread the word far and wide.
As soon as you are notified of your nomination you may begin telling people about that as well in the same manner.
8. Can I TELL people to VOTE for me?
NO! You may not force, threaten or otherwise coerce people into voting for you. You MAY hint that you would like people to vote for
you as heavily as you wish. Example: My Story ____ has been nominated for a Blue Moon Award I would appreciate it if you vote for this story....is just fine
if posted to your own blog, site, and/or mailing list. It is not fine if you post it all over creation and annoy people. If you happen to have two nominated works in a single category and have a preference regarding which one you would like to see win you
may make that known as well.
9. What about original characters?
We love them! Send in nominations for stories with original characters and if we get enough of them we’ll hold a
special award category when voting opens. For Original Characters to qualify for a 'Best Original Character' award at least
one story containing that character must be nominated and move forward to the voting round.
Original Characters may not be nominated on their own.
10. What about series works?
First, the 'stand alone' rule does NOT apply in this program. ANY story within a series
may be freely nominated individually. Second, series nominated in their entirety will have their own category, providing we get enough nominations for them.
11. Where can stories/artwork be located?
ALL WORKS MUST BE housed on a freely available public site. No mailing list entries or works housed on sites that
require membership or a password to gain entry.
12. What about broken links?
Please be sure you type in the correct link to the story/artwork you are nominating. We will do what we can with the
information provided by the nominator to find the story/artwork nominated and, if time permits, we will contact the
nominator regarding their nomination. If a working link cannot be found the nomination will not go forward.
13. When will nominess be notified?
In order to avoid any last minute rush or delays we were hoping to do this
as we go along and categories become available. Nominees must display a working email link on their site so we can contact them.
If we can’t contact any given nominee their nomination will not go forward.
14. What if I don't want to participate?
If that's the case your decision will be respect. When we notify you of your nomination simply politely decline to participate.
