The Underworld

Three years passed by and Calla became comfortable in her new little cabin in the Underworld.  She still had a hard time believing that she was here in the Elysian Fields, she’d been so terrified when she entered the  Underworld and stood on the Road before the Judges.  When they pronounced her Saved she thought she’d misunderstood.  Here she was and here she stayed.

Every night she crawled into her lonely bed and dreamed of making love with Daniel just one more time. To feel his arms around her and his breath against her neck, just once more.

It wasn’t so much to ask.

Was it?

Sitting in her little cabin, the one Hades picked out for her, with dusk falling she began to cry.  Calla cried every night until she could cry no more and Morpheus took pity on her even down here.

A knock on the door brought her out of her nightly ritual. “Uncle, you don’t have to knock, how many times have I told you that?” She said in a slightly exasperated voice as she went to the door.

Outside the door he was very, very nervous. What would he say? Did she even want to see him? It had been a very long time.“Hi.”

Calla held a hand to her mouth and stumbled backward. “Daniel?”   She hadn’t allowed him to come visit her in the Underworld although Hades repeatedly told her that Daniel was anxious to do just that. She didn’t want him near her and to be tempted by him and the desire to touch him which would undoubtedly result in his death. “What are you doing here?” She gasped as she fought back the impulse to rush into his arms.

“Gonna let me in?”

Well, he was here and it was rude not to allow him a bit of time. Calla stepped back to let him into the cabin. “I’ve missed you, Kitty.”  Daniel reached out to touch her but Calla scurried away from him. “Don’t be afraid.”

“I’ve missed you too, my love.” She said with tears in her emerald eyes. “Why are you here?”

“After you….left…” he hated to use the word ‘died’ when talking about her, “I, well, eventually I went back to the SGC.” Daniel decided on giving her the shortest possible version of the last three years of his life because he just couldn’t wait to hold her again. “There was an accident…”

“No,” she gasped and held a hand to her mouth once more, “no. come with me quickly, Uncle, we'll go to Uncle...”

“Stop, Kitty." Daniel whispered. "Yes, I 'm dead,” he smiled for her and held out his hand. “Guess I’m here for the duration.  I’m dead,  Kitty.  Just like you.”

Until then...there was Here and there was Now.

Daniel couldn’t wait anymore, he scooped her up in his arms and planted a arm soft kiss on her lips.  “I guess we’re stuck with each other again.” He whispered feeling the familiar and much missed tingle on his lips and lower.

Daniel was here, he was with her again, dead or alive, that was all that mattered. She was complete once more and so was he.“Well, let’s make the most of it.” Calla agreed and led him toward the bed.

Well, Dear Reader, this concludes this story and this entire series. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for making such a long journey with me, Danny, Calla and Cast & Crew. Now we must say good-bye to Daniel and Calla. I think they've earned their rest.
