Hypnotize The Moon Chapter Four They lay in bed, holding each other drifting in and out of sleep. Jennifer was sleeping peacefully when the phone rang. Daniel tried to grab it before it woke her up but she grumbled anyway. Picking up the phone and taking it into the other room he talked. “It may have to be thirty, we need
a shower. We are not coming in smelling of sex.” “Ok Father, will do. Anything else
I can do for you while I am at it?” “No, go get your shower and we will
see you in thirty.” Daniel
grumbled and hung up the phone, not knowing Jennifer was looking at
him through the bedroom door, while he stood there on the phone with
Jack. They were supposed to have two more days for leave. Daniel looked
up and saw Jennifer standing there. “Well I guess all good things must
come to an end.” She interjected. “Yeah, I guess so, lets shower together
so we can get there and back as quick as we can.” He walked over and
kissed her nose after he said that. They
got ready and hopped into the shower. As much as both of them would
have loved to make love in the shower, they had to get ready. Their
job was something that couldn’t wait. He grabbed the keys and she
grabbed her purse and her cell and walked out the door. She would put
her make up on in the car, while Daniel drove. Jennifer
called Jack as they were pulling into the base and said that they would
be down in five minutes. They took the elevator down to their office,
no one was there. So then they went to the briefing room and there was
a note: -Jack “Jack always did like to be short and
sweet.” Jennifer said. They both grumbled cause they couldn’t
see what was going on in the gate room. The blast doors were closed.
They did go to the Arms room to grab some zats in case they needed them.
They decided to think ahead, never know when this could be a trap. They
opened the doors to the gate room and were shocked. Everyone yelled
“Surprise” to them. They congratulated them on their engagement.
They found out that Jack was listening to the radio at the same time
that the announcement came on. So he wanted to throw them an engagement
party. There
was food, and cake, and everything. She was shocked, she knew somehow
Daniel had set this up. She didn’t believe the story that Jack had
made up about hearing it on the radio. He hated country music. So she
knew it was a lie, but let it slip. Jennifer looked around at all the
other well dressed people, and she felt out of place. She had on Jeans
and a shirt. Even Daniel had dressed up. She
was standing there alone, looking at the cake. Daniel was off talking
to someone about rocks and the things that he does. She looked over
to find Daniel flirting with a blonde hair, blue eyed, big breasted
woman. She got so jealous, because he was flirting with her. Sam was
witnessed the whole thing. When she saw Jennifer’s eyes travel
over to where Daniel was, she knew he was in big trouble. She could
tell that it was flirting, innocent enough, he had a fiancée, he didn’t
need to be flirting with other girls, especially with his fiancée in
the room. She
put down her plate of food and was going to walk out the door. Jack
stopped her and asked her how she like the party. She grumbled and started
crying and pushed past him. Jack then saw what had pissed her off, ‘Stupid
move, Daniel,’ Jack thought. She ran to her office and shut herself
in. Pulling her legs to her chest, she shut her eyes and the tears started
flowing. She
got up and threw her stuff in a bag, the stuff that she had arrived
at the mountain with, and nothing more. She set her engagement ring
down on a paper on his desk and wrote this note: Daniel, Here is my ring and my heart. You have proved to me today, that I am not what you want. I know you don’t really want to be tied down. I saw the way you looked at Ms. Busty Shit. You wanted her, admit that. So this is just to let you know that I am leaving my ring, and my heart. And am saying farewell to the only person I have truly ever loved. I am sorry it had to end this way. Hope you find what you are looking for. Jennifer She
cried as she folded the note, and wrote Daniel’s name on it. She set
the ring on top and walked out the door. She took the elevator up to
the surface and handed her badge to the airman, then told him that she
was leaving and never coming back. She took her car, that was
left previously on base, back to the house that they once shared. Packed
up what she could and walked out with her heart on her sleeve. She
had no idea where she would go, or what she would do. She had a little
bit of money and that was it. Maybe she could drive to Vegas, and get
a job there. She really didn’t care what she did as long as it was
away from Colorado, and all the dreams had gone up in smoke. That’s
what she decided to do, drive to Vegas, and see what came her way. The End Chapter Four Of
