Coma White Chapter 4: Dinner with the Family "Bring you comics in bed, scrape the mold off the bread
Annie could hear the front door close and almost winced. She'd listened
in to the conversation, and felt guilty. She certainly hadn't meant THAT to
happen. She'd better get out of here and quick. Hopping out of the shower,
Annie dried off, and looked at herself in the mirror. Okay, so she was really
out of her element here. But she was a survivor, and she'd adjust.
Shrugging, Annie opened her makeup case. She patted her face with white
powder, not that she needed much, her skin was white marble from too many days
without sun. Drawing lines around her eyes, and shadowing there with black, she
smoothed on the matching lipstick. Applying long black lashes to her already
long ones, the affect was dramatic.
Deciding to go up today, she twisted her black hair into an intricate
knot in the back of her head. For extra effect, she added Chinese sticks then
smoothed down her braids, spraying them down before tucking them back under
ear. She stuck through a pair of dangly moon earrings, one ear pierced ten
times.
Turning around, she looked at the unobstructed view of the dragon that
rose out of her tailbone. The huge tattoo was a full on color picture of one in
flight. The wings draped over her shoulders, the tail wrapped down her ass to
wind around her thigh and end at a spiked mace above her right knee. The Celtic
knot with the pentagram inside it graced her neck, and many more on her arms,
thighs, and tummy. A work of art really.
Walking out of the bedroom, Annie slid up her thong, and pulled on a
tight see through long sleeved shirt. It showed everything. Chuckling, she
wondered what Daniel would think if he could see her right now. She took her
favorite corset out, a purple and black one that hooked in the front. She held
her breath as she put it 0n, then used it to enhance her breasts. She was just
pulling on her stockings when Daniel walked in, obviously not used to having to
knock. Annie wasn't at all affected, she winced for HIM, knowing she was about
to witness him again getting flustered.
I'm....." Daniel choked out. He stopped cold. Annie looked up with
those sultry gothic eyes, her cleavage moving with every breath. The lace
corset did its job very well. Daniel licked his lips. One of her legs, graced
with tattoos of writing, flowers, and rain was up, and she was stretching a
thigh high stocking up the white skin. He couldn't speak. His mouth went dry.
His blue eyes widened. He was 37, been married, knew sex, but this display,
this threw him. She was just too strongly sexual.
Annie noticed his response, and thought to play with him a little. She
ran her fingers along with the cloth, being extra slow about it. Sliding up off
the bed, she approached him. Daniel backed up until his back was up against the
wall.
"I'm sorry...I didn't mean to...."
"What? Interrupt me...or stare?" Annie purred, invading his
personal space, putting her arms out to rest both palms against the wall.
"B..b....both I guess." His eyebrows
crinkled together and he tried to duck his head. Annie stopped him. She brought
her body within a hairsbreadth of touching him, and did something she'd wanted
to do since she first laid eyes on him. For a moment, Daniel thought she was
going to kiss him, but like always, she surprised him. She latched her lips
onto his pulse. She scraped her teeth against it lightly, then licking the
area. Daniel could feel the warmth of her mouth against the cold of the metal
ring in her lower lip. His entire being flooded with liquid metal.
"Now, what were you saying?" She let go, and pulled back,
returning to dressing like nothing happened, but smirked.
"My friends invited us to dinner tonight at seven." Daniel
blurted.
"Okay, my shift doesn't start until ten, so what the fuck?"
She laughed. The noise continued as he rushed out of the room.
Once outside of the room, Daniel wiped off his neck, only to come away
with black lipstick on his fingers. He panted, feeling the sensations all over
again. My GOD, he realized. If she hadn't pulled away, he would've thrown her
on the bed and fucked her. Not making love as he and Sha're had, not had sex as
he and Sarah had, but fucking. Pure, animal sex. There
was something building in the house, some power. Daniel leaned against the wall
as some heavy metal song started again. A part of him wanted to bathe in
whatever Annie had, and another part just wanted that power to go away. It scared
him. Not in the sense that he was scared of HER, but his reactions to her were
scaring him. As it was, he couldn't
remember the last time he'd had an erection, but all it took was her sliding up
and brushing a kiss on his neck to remind him just exactly what wood felt like.
He groaned. This could get bad. But when he thought of letting her go, parts of
him screamed in protest. Oh yeah, this could get REAL bad.
6:30
"Annie?" Daniel called. "Almost ready!" She called back. She'd slipped on
a black leather miniskirt, her boots, and all her necklaces. Shed added all her
bracelets, and slipped a few rings on her fingers. Clipping a chain belt on,
she made sure her hose was secure, and hit the lights. Exiting the room, she
saw Daniel waiting for her in the living room.
Daniel looked so cute. In simple black dress pants, a blue button up
shirt, and a matching jacket, his glasses perched regally on his face; she took
a moment to enjoy the sight. His skin was tanned and healthy, his eyes a
fantastic shade of blue. Tucking her braids back again, Annie sighed. In
another life, in another time.....Annie cleared her throat, and Daniels eyes
almost fell out. For
his part, taking in the sight of Annie in all her gothic splendor was a shock.
Sure, she was brash and wild, unpredictable and she purred when she spoke, but
GOD, he wanted her so badly he could taste it. The corset moved when she
walked, but she didn't even notice as she pulled on her worn motorcycle jacket.
"We ready Pretty eyes?" Annie asked, and Daniel nodded. She
led the way to his car, since he was too pre-occupied, and quite frankly, he
was staring at her ass. He didn't know what was wrong with him. Normally
reserved and quite shy when it came to women especially since his wife died,
but ever since seeing Annie in the streetlight, something inside him he didn't
even know existed came to the surface.
Daniel was no saint. Nor was he some sort of born again virgin,
well.....the born again part maybe, but not the virgin part. Okay, so his
experiences had been very limited, but he had been so busy, was STILL busy and
he knew once she left, that lightning feeling would go with her. He bit his
lip, maybe he could convince her to stay.
Arriving at the restaurant, Daniel turned to Annie.
"Now....I mean. These are my closest friends, they’re
like....family. I don’t know how they're going to...."
"You think I've never done this dance before Daniel? I don't wear a
mask and I have no regrets." He looked at her across the car. She was so
determined and placed. She was happy with who she was, and was happy living the
way she did. How many people can say they gave society the great big up yours
and smiled afterwards? Daniel knew there were things she was hiding, but
considering the massive amount of non-disclosure he was giving HER, well, he
had no right to complain.
They walked in together, and were immediately waved over to a table in
the corner. Annie recognized Jack of course, and the others. She knew them from
her vision, but she didn't dare say that. She shrugged out of her jacket, and
walked over. Daniel watched her from behind and noticed that every head...EVERY
head...was watching her. The tightness of her skirt, the way her breasts popped
from her corset. As for the people at his table, well, for them to be on world
and have that look on their faces was priceless.
Daniel carefully pulled out a chair for her and Annie slid into it,
crossing her legs. She smirked as she took in the faces. Only the dark skinned
one seemed unaffected by her presence. She smiled. She liked that. When Daniel
sat down next to her, she put her hand on his thigh, rubbing ever so gently.
The caress felt like static electricity and he stopped fidgeting.
"So.....I'm Annie, but you already know that. And you are?"
Annie started, tucking her braids back again. Even though
they were already back. The
blonde was actually cuter than her pic showed. She was dressed in simple jeans
and a blue V necked sweater and studs in her ears. With her blonde hair short
and her makeup subdued, Annie could smell military coming off her. When she
spoke however, it was with kindness, if not somewhat forced. Her huge blue eyes
took in Annie before she spoke,
"Samantha Carter."
"What branch?" Annie said conversationally. Sam looked shocked
and then realized lying would solve nothing, she responded.
"Air Force...Major." Annie raised her pierced eyebrow and
nodded. Then she turned to the one she'd seen that afternoon, and he looked
just as shocked as he had been then. She could tell a sarcastic comment was
ready to strike off the tip of his tongue. Annie wondered if he had the guts to
actually let her know just how much he disapproved of her.
"And you're.....Jack?" Annie asked. "Colonel Jack O' Neill. Air
Force." He said dryly. Annie folded her arms and waited for his
inevitable smartass comment, "So you in the goth
military?"
"We don't have one, but I'm sure you wouldn't make it through the
boot camp. It requires more musical knowledge than the greatest hits of Jimmy
Buffet." Daniel actually snorted. Jack glared.
"I happen to LIKE Jimmy Buffet."
"Fishing or golf?" Annie shot back. This time Daniel DID laugh
and even Samantha giggled.
"O' Neill prefers the art of Fishing." The black man to her
far right confirmed, and when Jack went to open his mouth, the man simply
raised his brow, which made Jack resort to admit to a grudging respect for the
girl.
"And you are?" Annie prompted.
"I am Teal'c." He inclined his head.
"Hmmm....sounds African, tribal maybe?" Annie asked. "Something to that effect."
"Boy that mod must've hurt like a bitch!" Annie pointed at the
First Prime gold symbol on Teal'cs head. "Mod?" He asked. "Body modification." Annie explained.
"Indeed." He confirmed after a moments thought. She nodded,
her braids jingling.
"Belly button hurt like hell for a month." Annie sympathized. The
waiter took their drink orders, and while beer and wine was consumed, Daniel
noticed Annie had stuck with a coke. He frowned.
"I don't drink. Bad for your health and it makes
my work sloppy...."
"I too do not consume alcohol." Teal'c said, and she raised
her glass to him. By
then, Jack had had enough with keeping his mouth shut. Annie was sliding just a
little too easily into the club. He had to admit that he DID appreciate her
breezy attitude and her sharp as a tack mind, but she also carried a lightning
in a bottle personality, and he didn't like Daniels open acceptance of her. So
while they ate, Jack let loose with the information he'd gathered on her.
"So Annie, I'm surprised that you haven't told Danny here about
your Masters in Egyptology." Annie stiffened. Daniel looked her accusing
and shocked.
"What masters’ degree? Annie?" "Sure....was
six months shy of being a Doc just like you. Walked
out." Annie looked decidedly uncomfortable. Her
education wasn’t something she flaunted or even acknowledged most of the time.
She loved the subject, and had gone through a lot to get where she was. By the
time it came time to finalize her status, however, Annie was unhappy. Caged. She liked her art courses more and more everyday. Loved her music and her ability to fly free. She knew that
once it was done, so was she. There would BE no more clubs, no more body mods,
no more careening in the back of a drop top Caddy in the rain at top speed,
feeling the wetness on her face and the blaring music enveloping all the bad
things in her soul. No more spending half her life in some underground party,
feeling the floor vibrate with songs she knew every word to. So she gave it all
up. Walked out. It was the perfect future for some.
For Annie, it had become her greatest fear. She would NOT live her life with
her wings clipped. So she'd gone and gotten her body modification/ tattoo
certification, threw her shit in a bag, and fled New York. Since then, she'd
been all over the country, setting up shop in whatever place she found that
brought the most thrills. She hadn't looked back...not once.
"Ever seen a bird in a cage Col.?
Not one that you buy, not one from a pet store, but one they just
captured?" Annie whispered.
"Yeah....." Jack didn't know where she was going with this.
"That's what it would've been like for me. Some people are content
with dusty libraries or cubicles. Or even neck deep in sand somewhere in a very
hot place. That's how THEY fly. For me, it would've been a cage. I needed to live
life on my terms, or no plaque on any wall would mean anything to me. I loved
school. It was easy for me. I soak up knowledge without barely thinking ,
'Course it helps that touching anything or anyone at any given time opens up
any lock for me'" She thought, "But I decided to do what made me
happy instead of something I just happened to do well. I would've been given
major respect and props, but it would've been a cage for me. A guilded one, sure, but a cage is a cage, and I wanted to
fly free. Anything else was simple unacceptable. Cost me a lot, but it worth
every penny. You can't put a price on freedom." The
explanation seemed to be enough to pacify Daniel, but it DID answer the
question about how she knew so much about the things she was playing with back
at his apartment. He looked up to watch
Teal'c incline his head to the girl they'd known for less than an hour.
"Indeed. Freedom is something worth fighting a mighty battle in
order to achieve." Annie nodded. End of Chapter Four of Coma White This story along with all original characters and situations were created
