 Chapter 12: Family

"Lean on me when you're not strong
And I'll be your friend
I'll help you carry on
For it won't be long
Till I'm gonna need
Somebody to lean on..."
Lean On Me
Bill Withers

The thing about families was that none of SG-1 had managed to keep one that didn't at one time fall apart. So they had made a family of their own. Connected by both success and tragedy, the team couldn't imagine one without the other at this point. Especially after Daniel’s descention. On that ramp as Jonas Quinn had walked up to his new job on Kelowna, there had been a sound in the 'Gate room that couldn't be heard. It was the sound of a "click". As Jack, Sam, Teal'c, and with much gratitude, Daniel, the click as the team moved back into the perfect puzzle they'd always been. The relief that day had been almost tangible, and even General Hammond, as he'd witnessed Daniel stand alone at the end of the ramp, looking up at the very thing he'd created, hadn't been immune to the poignant moment.

Jack O' Neill had his ways. And one of those was using his top level security clearance to get what he wanted. He'd chased down Annie’s parents. It wasn't hard. St. John White married Katerine LaTone in 1975, and had Annabella in 1976. St. John had been in the Army as a Black Ops since 1974, so missions were not new to Katerine. But something had happened that changed all that in 1980. When Jack got a hold of St. Johns last mission report, it had been polka dotted in black cross outs. That was unacceptable to Jack. So he'd called in a favor.

"General?" Jack asked from Hammond’s office door.

"Yes Jack? What can I do for you?"

"This is Annie’s fathers’ last mission report, but it's blackened out. We should have top clearance to the truth right General?"

"I'm not sure Jack. You know how it goes in Black Ops."

   "General, Annie deserves to know."

"I'll see what I can do Jack. The State Department isn't the most cooperative when it comes to their secrets. But seeing as how we do protect the planet’s greatest secret maybe that'll grease the wheels."

Turns out, it did. Jack found out that St. John had been sent to infiltrate a group of arms dealers in Cuba. The mission went badly when the dealers received an anonymous tip they had a spy in their midst. To spare the State Department the embarrassment, they blamed the failure on St. John, and when he was killed, they planted one million dollars in a fake account, and St. John took the fall. Katerine had been fed a lie and denied St. Johns pension. Between Hammond and Jack, they were able to 'talk' the State Dept. into rescinding their official report, and a new report placed in the files.

The report now states the truth. Jack was happy. As soon as possible, Jack would present Annie with her fathers Silver Star and the ten thousand dollars that Katerine had been denied. He was in his living room, looking at his own Silver Star, and thought about the irony. Charlie got to be proud of his father but not live long enough to keep it with him, and Annie had lived with the absolute lack of pride in St. John. He couldn't save his own son, but he could help the daughter of a man who lived a life just like him. He felt a kinship with St. John, and by proxy, Annie. He couldn't bring St. John back anymore than he could Charlie.......but maybe he could help her be at peace with the father she never got to know.

The day of Jacks party dawned bright and sunny. Warm enough to swim in the fishless pond, and the air crisp. He and Sam put out chairs and Jack started the barbeque.....which really meant just pouring beer on helpless slabs of meat.

Back at Daniels house, he was tapping his feet and looking daggers at the bedroom door.

"Annie! For Gods sake, we're gonna be late."

"I'm comin, chill out!" Annie called back.

  Daniel rolled his eyes.

Annie came out a minute later, and Daniel almost immediately regretted rushing her. She'd dressed for the weather, and dressed wasn't exactly the word. She'd worn a black and white striped bikini. The black spaghetti straps haltered and tied in the back. It was little more than triangles of cloth tightly holding Annie’s assets. Over it, she wore a fishnet half shirt, cutting off just below the breasts. Her black frayed short shorts were folded over at the top, giving the viewer a peek at the matching bikini bottom. Her perfectly toned and tattooed legs went on for miles. A pair of chunky high heeled sandals was strapped on, with the straps winding up her leg. She had on her gaggles of bracelets, necklaces, and her earrings were lightning bolts. She'd rebraided her bangs, and tucked them behind her right ear. The rest was tied up in a tight braided ponytail, with her skull holder. Her green eyes were heavily lined and shadowed, her lipstick a creamy black. She'd worn all her piercings, ten in the left ear, eyebrow...two, nose ring, lip ring, and her tongue ring could be seen when she licked her lips. She shook out her hair and slid on black tinted sunglasses, blinged out on the sides with tiny diamonds spelling out C.W. She slid down her sunglasses and leaned against the doorjamb, one arm high on the wood.

"You were saying babe?" Annie teased as she slipped another lollipop in her mouth.

"You....Annie...." Daniel looked down at himself. He'd just worn a black t-shirt, blue jeans and sneakers. Annie smiled.

"Don't even baby. You leave the pyrotechnics to me. You......god....your eyes are worth more than every bit of glamour I can squeeze out." She slithered over and grabbed him, sliding her hands into his back pockets and lowering her lips to his neck. Daniel groaned. He really should stop her. They were late. Late......oh god that feels good. Her sucking lips and scraping metal were sending him into orbit. What was the problem? Oh yeah...late. Late where? They weren't late anywhere. Daniels eyes dilated. He turned her, and placed her against the wall.

"What are you doing baby?" She sang, teasing him with his own need.

"I don't know...." Daniel said through the fog. He yanked down her ridiculously short shorts and bikini bottom. Opened his jeans. He had NO idea what the hell he was doing. He yanked down his boxers. Spat on his hand, and stuck two fingers inside his lover. She was already soaking wet. He pulled her ass out, and shoved his throbbing need inside her.

"You know what you're doing." Annie teased as he slammed into her again and again.

"Oh god, you feel so good Annie. Warm...HOT. I'm not gonna last long Annie." He warned her. She took the hand not on her ass and brought it to the front of her, teaching him the ways.

"Oh....yeah...." He muttered, and used his fingers to stimulate her clit.

They moved together, his hips and fingers. The connection bloomed. He was coming. The pressure, the images of how she was dressed, her gothic sexuality a sirens song for his soul. He'd never been like this before. A sexual being. He'd always been detached and shy. But with Annie, it was like he was on fire, and after so much cold, it felt good. He was slowly coming out of his shyness. The Alpha Male he didn't usually acknowledge due to being such a learned and gentle man. He knew Annie loved him for that, and she loved just listening to him read and nuzzling watching TV, but at times like these, when she was giving off such a vibe, pulling on that part of him, he couldn't turn it off, and he had to see it through. So he took her.

"ANNIE!" He screamed, releasing violently. He felt her follow him, crying out as she too showed him how much she appreciated the pleasurable assault. Daniel panted as he pulled back, leaving his girlfriends body almost disappointing.

"Dammit Annie....you're like a drug." He looked terrified for a second as she fixed herself.

"You think this is something I'm doing to you?"

"I'm...I'm...I don't.....against the WALL Annie? The door of my OFFICE. I shoved artifacts on the ground to make enough room to....to.....And that’s not even counting our nightly marathons." He blushed. The things she had him doing at night.

"Okay, let me ask you this. Were you like this with Sha're?"

"No. I was always...in control of myself." He ran his hand through his hair....only making it cuter.

"Well, control is overrated Daniel. I'm not a drug. I'm just someone you trust and love. And maybe someone you trust enough to let go. To really let go. To crack open that shell of Dr. Jackson made of trinium, and let Daniel out. I'm not changing you Daniel.....I'm helping you release your burden." Daniel started.

  "What did you say?"

"What...release your burden?" She frowned. Daniel hugged her close. Oma. Sometimes he felt her and her meaningful teachings in the strangest places. But if Annie knew to say that, then maybe he should listen to her.

"You're right. I'm sorry baby. Wanna take your sorry excuse for a boyfriend to a party?"

"Nope. But I'm willing to take my fabulous one." Daniel rewarded her with one of his rare hundred watt smiles.

The party was already in full swing when they got there. Annie ran up on the deck. Jack waved from the barbeque, and Sam hugged her. She shook Teal'cs hand.

"Hey peoples! I am here; the par-tay may begin!"

Seeing Dr. Frasier, she ran over to give Janet a hug.  But she stiffened some. Annie looked hurt, until she looked out on the lawn and saw the teenage Cassandra. Annie removed her sunglasses.

  "Bad influence?" Annie asked.

  "She's never seen you Annie."

"You know me well Janet. Do you think I'd corrupt your kid, or undermine your authority with her? I am what I am and I won’t apologize for it, but I'm not going to try and force it on others. And besides Janet, like I told Hammond, if all she does is DRESS weird? Come on, don't you think that's a blessing? It could be much worse." Janet nodded.

"I'm sorry Annie." She shook her head.

"You were protecting your daughter Janet....don't ever apologize for that." Annie smirked and leaned down to kiss Janet on the cheek.

They both did wince when Cassie turned around and got an eye full of Annie. She walked up on the deck.

"Hi. I like your shoes!" Cassie said. They were surprised, Cassie didn't take to strangers. But something about Annie put the teenager at ease, and soon they were both hopped up on the railing, talking. Cassie seemed to open up to Annie. All of a sudden, Annie jumped down, and announced the party needed music. She grabbed her portable, and went out to where there was a bench about twenty feet away. She put it down and all of a sudden the sounds of Christina Aguilera singing "Dirrty". Annie got on the table and danced as Cassie watched and laughed from the grass.

On the deck, Jack, Sam, Teal'c and a few invited marines and SFs were all drawn to the edge of the railing. There was some catcalling and encouraging. It became rowdy as Annie ran her own one woman USO. But when Annie took her sunglasses off, her green eyes only held heat for one man, and she beckoned Daniel with them.

He smirked to the crowed, put his hands in his pockets and walked to the table. Annie jumped into his arms, and sat on the table top while she buried her fingers in soft brown hair and kissed Daniel full on the lips. There were choruses of boos and a lot of "Aww mans" but Annie just laughed, tipped her head to the sunshine and pulled a tissue out of her pocket. She always had one handy for Daniel to wipe her signature black lipstick off should they get into it in public. He wiped it off, and turned back to the deck, shrugged, and ruffled Cassie’s hair. The statement was clear. 'I may dress like a slutty goth and dance like a stripper, but I'm property of Daniel Jackson'. SG-1 looked at each other and nodded. Sexy, rowdy, and out of control, but loyal to the core. That’s the best they could ask of Annie.

Cassie came running up to the deck, and excitedly asked if Annie could come over and visit them. Janet nodded, smiling. Cassie looked longingly out where the music was still playing and Annie was touching Daniel lightly on the cheek.

"She is SO cool." Janet’s smile faded a little.

"I love you baby." Annie looked at Daniel and never let his blue eyes drop. The words echoed through his mind.

"Annie..." She yelped as he picked her up and brought her to sit on the railing. She moved to face their company. But he didn't surrender his place between her legs, and he rubbed her back in circles.

Jack had a memory flash through his mind. The first trip back to Abydos, Daniel holding Sha're close and rubbing her back, asking him what's going on. It looked the same really. He laughed.

"Hey Danny, she's at least from this planet this time." Annie snorted.

"You sure Jack?" She winked and everyone laughed.

  "Actually.....no." Jack quipped.

George Hammond arrived late, explaining his granddaughter had hurt herself on the playground. Annie saw a lot of people stiffen. Hammond laughed.

  "At ease people!" He chuckled.

"Hi General!" Annie waved. "Is Kayla alright?"

"Yes she's just got a sprained ankle."

"That’s good. Kids can be so accident prone. But resilient."

They sat down to eat after that. Conversation flowed from one person to the next. But it was SG-1 that stayed in their own world. Plus one now as Annie joined their inner circle.

"I'm telling you Sam, they were toys!"

   "For KIDS?" Annie nodded.

"Okay, the way I saw it was a little girl pressing symbols on it until a teddy bear popped out. Though I don't think it was like, a bear. But if she got it wrong, it shocked her. Not enough to really hurt her, but to teach her. I THINK that's how they taught the kids to read. Yikes huh? I think I prefer my Speak N' Spell. Thing had a voice like a possessed accountant, but at least it didn't shock me!" Annie was talking about the circular symboled balls that SG-12 brought back from PJS-522.

"Yeah, I'm trying to figure out the language from it. It’s really quite fascinating."

"Oh, yeah. It was quite 'fascinating' to watch you play with it a little too much and wind up getting shocked." Daniel glared at her.

"I thought you said you weren't going to tell anyone about that!"

  "Did I?"

Daniel ducked his head, shaking it in resignation. Sam giggled. Teal'c seemed to grin, and Jack smiled brightly. His 'kids' were happy. Alive, together. He almost owed Annie more than he could give her. But he DID make plans for Annie to receive her father’s medal and money in a ceremony soon. Jack had to talk to her first. Make her understand.

Annie was laughing again, her fey like eyes sparkling in the sun. One of the marines down the table shook his head.

"Man, Dr. Jackson gets to get that daily."  Another nodded.

"Yeah, guy is lucky as hell."

Later, as the sun set and Annie was talking to Cassie on the railing again, Daniel and Jack shared a beer a few feet down. Daniel was so happy. He looked at Jack.

"I'm gonna marry her Jack." Jack choked on his beer.

   "Daniel, you mean someday right...RIGHT?"

"Nope. I already asked her, but she said it wasn't a good idea. I was just upset about what Jacob had said and I needed to calm down. But I meant it Jack. She said that if I still felt the same way in a month, we'd go to Vegas that DAY. She's only got two and a half weeks left."

    "Daniel, are you sure?"

"Ya know when I decided to stay on Abydos? With Sha're?"

    "Yeah. I'll never forget it."

"I've got that exact feeling when I'm with Annie."

"If you're sure Danny, I'll support you. But.....don't you think you could do better than VEGAS?"

"Yeah, let’s ask the General if we can marry in the 'Gate room." Daniel laughed.

"Might not be a bad idea Daniel. But he said no way to the Christmas lights and mistletoe."

"Damn....I was kinda looking forward to making out under it."

"Daniel, somehow, if Annie got it in her head to go further than a make out under the 'Gate, she'd figure it out." Daniel laughed.

"You're probably right." He blushed and ducked his head, but the tendril that he shared with Annie vibrated. He didn't think it was a bad idea either.

As if she knew she was being talked about, Annie lifted her head to stare in their direction. She smirked at Daniel, and suddenly, he had a graphic image of screwing her up against the tree that shaded the bench sear into his mind. He gasped.

  "Something wrong Daniel?" Jack asked.

"Annie thinks she's funny." He shook his head.
