  Chapter 15: Playing the Parts

"I wanted you to know I love the way you laugh
I wanna hold you high and steal your pain away
I keep your photograph and I know it serves me well
I wanna hold you high and steal your pain..."

"Jack, I gotta get Annie a ring." Daniel told Jack while they were headed to a briefing two days later.

  "A ring?" Daniel nodded.

"Sha're and I got married according to Abadonian cultural ways, but Annie is obviously not going to want a wedding cup."

"So we go shopping for a ring." Jack said simply.

"Problem is she wears only silver and hates diamonds." At the surprised look on Jacks face, Daniel explained.

"She's against the usage because of the horrors of conflict diamonds. I can't blame her Jack, could you imagine her touching it and finding the memory of some atrocity imbedded in it? "Jack shivered.

"You're right; I had to have the base swept for anything that might contain memories of your death. We can't have her go through that again." Daniel nodded.

"God, I didn't think that she was going to make it through that." Jack looked over at him.

"How DID you get her through it." Daniel mumbled something incoherent.

  "What?!"

"I said, we had to....to....." Daniels face burned.

  "What?! Why?!" Jack asked.

"That's how the link was forged, and it's the way it's maintained. And it’s creepy sometimes too because it works both ways. Now whenever I get that agitated and frazzled, my natural instinct has become to...to...seek her out." He flushed. Jack laughed.

  "Tragic Danny...I feel for ya."

  "Shut up Jack." Daniel muttered.

"So.....about this ring," Jack said suddenly "I got an idea."

"What’s that?" Daniel was almost afraid to ask.

  "We go offworld!"

"You wanna get her a ring from offworld?" Daniel looked confused.

"Yeah, you remember PJA - 277?" Daniel nodded.

"Well, you remember that place you and Carter found all those amazing gadgets and sparklies?" Daniel nodded, smiling.

"Right! They were made from naquada, and the gems from some ancient crystals that looked like constant swirling rainbows?"

"Yeah, I thought I was gonna have'ta carry Carter out." Daniel giggled.

"I remember. Oh, that’s perfect Jack. And the settings are shaped like twisted vines. It'll match her tummy. Oh, you think the General will let us use the 'Gate to go shopping?"

"Daniel, the way that girl has this base wrapped around her finger, you could ask the General to have the wedding in the middle of a Gao'uld occupied temple, and he'd sign off on it." Daniel smirked.

He walked into the briefing room, and there she was, talking with Sam. She looked over her shoulder, her pigtails bouncing as she sat on the edge of the table, and all you saw was the top of one striped thigh high and a short pleated skirt, a few inches of white skin showing. She took the pop out of her mouth and devoured him with her eyes.

"Hi Doctor." She said in a voice that reminded him of one of those girls back in college that tried to seduce her professor to get better grades.

"Yeah...tragic." Jack leaned over and whispered.

Daniel had to smirk. Annie was a sight to behold.

"Hey baby." He walked around the table to nuzzle her and run his fingers down the ties on the back of her thick strapped vinyl corset.

  The General coughed loudly.

"Okay people, let's go."  Daniel and Annie sprung apart. Well, Daniel sprung apart and sat down quickly. Annie just sort of flowed into her seat. She stretched out her arms in her skin tight see through shirt, cut low to let her breasts be pushed up by the corset. All of a sudden, she looked out the huge window to the 'Gate, and shot up,

"GENERAL! Close the iris!" She shouted.

  "Miss Wh-"

"NOW!" She ordered. Hammond was shocked. No one talked to him like that. He grabbed the phone and shouted at Walter to close the iris. It shut and all of a sudden a huge burst of blue light came and then a massive explosion the iris barely contained. They all looked at Annie. Who was visibly shaken. Daniel stood up and wrapped himself around her.

"I dunno, I just sensed really bad vibes, and noticed the iris was open." Annie explained.

  "General, permission to..."

"Go!" He ordered, and they all filed into the control room. Annie nuzzled deeper into Daniel.

Sam pushed a lot of buttons on the control pad. Her fingers flew over diagnostic computers. Hammond came down and stared at the Major, waiting for answers.

"It was a massive naquda explosion. The 'Gate was rapidly dialed. Three more seconds and the iris wouldnt've been able to contain the damage. It would've taken out the entire base. Maybe half of Colorado." Sam looked at the readings. She then looked back to Annie.

"I don't know Sam. I all of a sudden heard an evil laugh and then an evil intention to the 'Gate," Annie sheepishly raised her eyes to Hammond. "I'm sorry for speaking that way Sir."

  "We owe you our gratitude."

"My motives were purely selfish I'm afraid," She held tighter to Daniel. "I...I....couldn't let anything happen to him."

Daniel flushed and ducked his head. Half a state saved, and only because his girlfriend loved him. Excuse me. Fiancée. The people in room all smiled. Sam sent a team of people into the Gate room to clean up the radioactive traces.

"As soon as we can, I'm going to do you hard Annie." Her eyes widened. He meant it. As soon as it was decent for them to leave, he was going to find the nearest suitable place and...What is it the airmen say....'screw her brains out?'....yeah. That's what he was going to do.

"How did you hear the mind of someone not even here?" Jack asked.

"Anubis." Daniel answered. "He's telepathic. She must've picked up on psychic radio chatter."

"That guy is getting more and more annoying by the second," He put his hand on Annie’s shoulder. "Are you alright Annie?" Jacks voice took on a paternal tone. She nodded.

"Yeah. As long as all of you are alright. I'm fine. I would like to get away from here though." General Hammond nodded.

"Of course young lady. Dr. Jackson, take her back to your office." Annie smirked.

"Right." Daniel led Annie out of the control room.

"General, Daniel wants to buy a ring for Annie on PJA - 277." Jack asked. Hammond nodded.

"Son, at this point, he can buy a ring for her anywhere. Just tell me how much you need. This one's on the government." Jack smiled. This was gonna be a walk in the park. They'd go while the "ladies" were out shopping for Annie’s ceremony dress.

He went to seek out Daniel, and then remembered the look they'd shared just moments before they'd walked out. Maintenance. Tragic. So tragic.

Jack wasn't far off. Daniel had taken Annie to one of the more secluded VIP rooms on a pretty much unused floor. He was spread out on the bed, watching from hooded and dilated eyes as Annie rode him. He used one hand to rub her center. The other to guide her hips as he pushed up at her. The song "I'll Be Good" by Foxy Brown ft. Jay-Z was playing softly in the background. Oh, she could be so nasty sometimes.

"What up pop, brace yourself as I ride on top
Close your eyes as you ride, right out your socks
Double, lose his mind as he grind in the tunnel..."

Daniel heard the song, its throbbing beats, and crude lyrics. Annie’s head dropped back, riding him for all he was worth. He'd told her she could do whatever she'd wanted. She got on top, and he understood why. She shared with him the feelings her position was giving her. He was so deep, he was literally stimulating her womb. Oh. All of a sudden, she pitched forward, laid herself on top of him, tipping his head back to get to that tanned, intoxicating flesh of his neck. She latched on, sucking hard. He was close. Couldn't help it. Then she used one of her hands to rub the pads of her fingers on his scar.

"Annie....oohhhhh......oh god.....Annniieeee.....Annie!" Daniel was shaking, quivering. Pleasure, she made him live in it.

"I love you Daniel." Annie whispered against his neck. That did it. She sucked hard, and their connection enveloped them. He made a shuddering sound as he exploded. She keened as she came with him.

  "Daniel....."

"Oh Annie....you did well today....I'm so proud of you....and I love you."

They laid there for what seemed like forever. Recovering. No one went near them, not wanting to disturb their privacy.

General Hammond called the president as they were "relaxing". The president insisted on coming to present St. Johns medals to Annie. Hammond couldn't say no, and it was discussed giving her some sort of reward. Hammond said short of buying Annie her own Hot Topic, there wasn't a thing she wanted more than to just be with Dr. Jackson. He and the president joked about how long it would be before the request came to throw a wedding in the gate room. The old friends laughed. Truth be told, Hammond would sign off on that before the request was dry. And he hoped they'd give him lots of smart, wild kids to coddle.

The day of the ceremony, the General put Sg-1 on stand down. He chuckled as he heard the nervousness in Daniels voice as he tried to get the ring and get back before Annie noticed he was gone. Although it had been a very, very long time since George was in the exact same position with Ruby, he remembered the way he'd felt. Like a cat in a room full of rocking chairs.

Meanwhile, Sam, Janet, Cassie, and Annie were shopping. They went to a local mall, and shopped around for awhile. Annie talked to Cassie about school and boys, and did a game of who was cuter, Daniel or so and so. Daniel won out every time. Even against heavy hitters like Brad Pitt and Johnny Depp. That’s when Annie saw it.

"Sam! Look" Sam and Janet stopped to look at it.

It was skin tight black lace. A high collar, full length long sleeves that had a fishtail that was loose but if you spun in it, it went all the way out at the knee. It had a light flesh tone insert, but the kicker was a metal corset that locked off to the side with three tiny padlocks. The last one had a silver chain attached to it that dipped low to the other side where it attached to the bottom, and a key hung. It was a six thousand dollar dress. Sam had told her that whatever the cost, the government would be paying, seeing as she'd saved a lot of lives the day before. So she bought it. She also bought a silver band necklace with a circular pendant. It was the closest thing to the 'Gate she could find. She bought 5 inch high stiletto silver sandals.

They all got their hair, nails, and toes done. It was just too bad that Janet and Sam had to wear their dress blues. Cassie got to but a cute black lace mini-dress. It wasn't too short, and had spaghetti straps. Annie decided she would leave in her piercings but wear her hair down. All of it. She got her braids undone, and they pinned the bangs to the side and under the rest, which fell like a black waterfall to her waist.

  The SGC

The president had arrived in style. They ushered him, his secret service, a few other Generals, the Sec. of Def., and the rest of the SG personnel into the Embarkation room. The ceremony was to start in ten minutes.

"Annie please! It's the president!" Daniel pleaded at the VIP bathroom door. Annie applied false eyelashes, black shadow with silver gleam, and her signature black lipstick. Her long nails were painted shiny silver. She opened the bathroom door.

"Annie....pleaaaaaa.....holy shit Annie!" Daniel got an eyeful of Annie. She was a mixture of high fashion and gothic glamour. Her dress clung to her like a second skin. Daniels heart stopped. She was beautiful. He licked his lips and realized with embarrassment that he had a hard on.

Annie thought he was no slouch either. He was in a black silk double breasted suit with a grey blue shirt and a dove grey silk tie. His shoes were designer and shined. But what shined most was the fire in those eyes. Those uniquely colored blue eyes and smooth tan skin. The defined jaw and the boyish sexiness. The kissable lips. Silky and messily sexy brown hair that turned blonde in the sun. She gave him a devouring look. And he returned it.

"Fuck Princess baby, they should call you Goddess," Daniel touched her sides. "No bra?"

"The dress is too tight for that Daniel." He nodded and ran his hands over her breasts.

"We're going to be late." Annie sang. Daniel was actually disappointed.

"What’s come over you baby?" Annie smirked. She knew full well what it was. Daniel was discovering his sensual side, and one of the things that came along with that was the urge to do it at strange times.

"I have no idea." Daniels eyes dilated. He wondered if she wasn't indeed from another planet. He thought about the box in his pocket. He was going to give it to her now, and then announce the engagement at the party. Daniel smiled and looked again at her.

  "Annie?"

  "Yes baby?"

"I got ya something." He pulled a box from his hand.

Annie knew this was coming. She knew that although her deadline was a week away, he wasn't going to change his mind in that amount of time either. Annie thought over her life. She had never been this happy, and if happy went in this direction or another, she took that road every time. If happy wanted her to marry Daniel Jackson, then she would. Her mother, Katerine, would've told her that her heart is where you should live, and let no one stand in the way of that. Of course, fate hadn't exactly been kind to Katerine. But, she and St. John DID have six years of happiness. And if that was all they had, six years of bliss is better than a lifetime of nothingness. Annie was a different person than her mother, but she believed the same thing. So when Daniel got on one knee in front of her five hundred dollar Manolo Blahnik sandals, and opened the box, Annie locked her eyes with the fiery blue of Daniels.

  "Marry me Annie." Annie smirked.

"You sure? I'm not going to change who I am or my goals."

"God, I wouldn't want it any other way."

"Even though I give you hickeys and leave my lipstick on the sink."

"I WANT those hickeys and I don't care about the damn lipstick."

"Even though I'm a nymphomaniac and I drive you insane with my music"

"I'm getting laid like crazy and studying another culture."

"Then I can do no less than accept your offer." Annie laughed and put out her hand. He slid on a beautiful dark silver ring. Damn, it was naquda. Its twisted vine look held in place a beautiful gem that seemed to be always swirling a beautiful rainbow.

"It's beautiful Daniel. You can't screw up anything Daniel, and I can't have marks." Annie smirked, and started to pull up the huge amount of lace that made up the bottom of her dress. She revealed a beautiful pair of silken thigh highs with a lace garter, complete with tiny black silk bows. Over that she'd pulled a silver thong. He moved it to the side, and found her excited and ready.

"Let's toast to our union by uniting." Daniel giggled and unzipped his black dress pants. It was quick and profound and fogged up the mirror behind them. Not to mention his glasses. Afterwards, Daniel even kindly placed a tissue between them and dressed, then cleaned her, not wanting to have a "Monica" with the dress. She laughed and nuzzled him with appreciation. He lowered her dress and her leg, running his hand over the silk thighs. Later. Oh GOD later. They clicked together out of the room.

In the Gate room, all was set up. The president waited in the hallway for his cue. SG-1 was lined up against the ramp to the right. Red carpet was on the floor. Flags stood in the shadow of the massive gate. One flag for the United States, one for the State of Colorado and one for the SGC. The men and woman of the SGC were en masse at the bottom of the ramp.

"I can’t believe they're late for the president!" Sam whispered.

"Well...I sorta...told him to propose." Jack made a face. Sam gasped.

"Oh my god, you know how they are Sir!" Jack smiled.

  "Yeah....fabulous ain’t it?"

"Not when they're two minutes late!"

The blast door opened to the right, and Daniel walked in with Annie to his right, holding his elbow. There was a collective gasp. Between Daniels gentle distinguished demeanor and fashionably boyish looks, and Annie’s cutting edge glamour, they almost outdid the president for attention. Glazed and sated blue and green eyes adding to their appeal, they looked like Manhattans night club royalty. Sweeping through a secret underground military facility.

"Jesus, someone call the paparazzi, look at THAT." Sam smiled.

"Nice isn't it." Jack looked at her.

  "You KNEW?"

"Sure....we were there when she bought it." Janet replied.

"And I gave Daniel a few hints...at the colors he should wear....so they kinda matched." Sam said.

"Look! The ring is on her finger!" Jack pointed at Annie’s hand.

  "Oh....a wedding. I can't wait." Sam’s eyes lit up.

Daniel and Annie took their places at the end of the ramp next to SG-1. Jack glared.

"You guys plannin’ some trip to the Ritz later?"

"Uh yeah, and then we're inviting Paris Hilton to go with us through the 'Gate, wanna come?"

"Now, that was just uncalled for." Jack grimaced.

"Thank you." Annie said sweetly, and General Hammond entered. All went quiet.

He reached the podium. "At ease." He straightened his notes and began his speech, talking about the importance of the SGC and the people in it, Annie tuned him out, and she respected him, but hated speeches. She instead watched her engagement ring swirl its colors. He got it offworld. She smiled. He'd gone through the 'Gate, just to get her the best ring. Later. Oh god....Later. They sent sizzling looks to each other, until the president was announced. He took his place at the podium and started saying almost the exact same thing as the General. Ugh, Annie started making wedding plans in her head.

"Windbag" Annie muttered. She wasn't happy he was undermining the General.

"And now, it is my great pleasure to introduce Col. Jack O'Neill."

Jack went up and took his place. He looked out over the crowd. Unlike the two speeches before her, this one she wanted to hear.

"You guys know how much I love this stuff, so I'm going to try and not bore you to death. Twenty three years ago, Colonel St. John White went to Cuba with the purpose of defending this country the only way he'd been trained to do. He left his wife and his four year old daughter behind.  Unbeknownst to him, as he carried out the mission given to him by his superiors, those things would go very badly. He was killed in action, and due to certain shortsighted decisions, paid the price for the misdeeds of others. Today, we seek to correct those actions. Colonel White went beyond the call of duty and deserves these accolades we're about to bestow on him. Unfortunately, he can't be with us, so they will be accepted from the president and General Hammond by his only living relative, his daughter, our own Annabella White."

Tearing up, Annie squeezed Daniels hand and joined them at the podium. The Secretary of Defense gave the official declaration white they handed her the boxes containing her fathers Silver Star and Purple Heart. She gave Jack a hug, and listened while they played taps, and gave her a folded up flag. She blinked away her tears. Jack took something out of his pocket.

"Keep these to always remember your father." He placed her father’s dog tags in her hand. After that, Annie returned to her place beside Daniel, and he wiped the tears from her eyes.

"Annie....baby. Don't cry. You'll ruin that perfect makeup. And we need to look perfect for the president.

"Pfft." Annie laughed and wiped her tears away.

"Let us never forget the sacrifice of our soldiers. God Bless the United States of America!" General Hammond said.

It was over. Annie put her father’s things off to the side. She received a special commendation for her work three days before, and felt awful silly about it since she'd done it out of love.

There was a party afterwards. Champagne flowed, congratulations passed around. At just the right moment, as he knew the president was leaving, Daniel tapped his glass.

"To all present, Annie and I have an announcement. She and I have decided to marry." The gasps and sounds of happiness vibrated through the entire assembly, and there was applause. They were surrounded by well wishers. The entire SGC seemed to want to share in the glow of happiness radiating from Annie and Daniel. As they stood together, pictures WERE indeed taken, and Hammond came up to offer the Gate room for the ceremony. If days were ever perfect, this was one of them, and Annie would never forget it.

Later that night, with her Dolce dress in the closet and her Minolos on the bedroom floor along with her lingerie which hadn't lasted long, Annie lay naked in Daniel's arms. They were watching a late night movie, having already gone on their journey through Pleasureville. Their stay had been a nice, long one and now as they sat in languid bliss, Annie’s ring sparkling on her finger, and their bodies intertwined, Daniel thought that perhaps Oma was right all along. Released his burden. He owed Annie more than he could ever repay. But he laughed; his last name would have to do.

  Smiling, Annie looked up.

"Daniel, your last name is enough. More than enough. In fact, another day being like this is enough. They say happiness is a fish you can't catch, but I think they're wrong."

"Jack would love it that you’re using fishing references in regards to our love life Annie."

"Pffffft....it’s actually a reference to an old Our Lady Peace album. It has one of my favorite songs on it. "Annie".

"Hmmm...I'll have'ta listen to it sometime."

"Admit it; you're starting to like rock." Annie laughed.

"Okay, I'll admit it does have its moments.......like when you're dancing to it." Daniel smirked. She retaliated by sending him the feeling of her licking his scar. He gasped, body twitching.

  "Oohhhh...you're a bad girl."

"Yeah well, ya know what they say. Behind every good boy, there has to be a bad girl" Daniel smirked.

"Or maybe behind HER?" Annie laughed, and Daniel lowered her into the sheets again.
