Chapter 6

At that moment, Jacob entered the room and his head whipped around to stare at his daughter in shock, turning into anger.  Briskly making his way over to the table he dropped down opposite her.  “What in the hell is going on Samantha Elizabeth Carter?” Jacob growled.

Being taking off guard, Sam was taking aback by her father’s sudden appearance and the tone of his voice.  “What do you mean dad, what is wrong?”

“What do you mean what is wrong?”  Jacob growled.  “When were you going to tell me that you are a host again?”

Staring in complete bafflement, Jack grabbed hold of Jacob’s arm.  “Jacob, what the heck are you talking about?”

Daniel took a gulp to get the coffee he had just drunk down and then answered in a low voice.  “I think we need to get out of here for this conversation.  This is something we need to discuss with Hammond and the rest of the team, and probably Dr. Warner as well.”

“Then let’s go, now!” Jacob growled.

The group got up from the table and headed for the door.  Pausing long enough to make a quick call to the infirmary to tell Dr. Warner to meet them in the conference room, the group marched on in silence.  Being a little scared of her dad at the moment; Sam shrunk to Daniel’s side and attached her self to his arm.  The trip to the conference room was made in deadly silence, nobody making the slightest sound.  The mess-hall was left in complete silence as everyone took in the sudden appearance of Major Carter’s father and then the group’s sudden departure.  The gossip was already starting.

Passing by Teal’c on the way to the elevator, Jack nodded his head to follow and they entire SG1 team was again caught up in another extreme development.

Upon seeing SG1 and two of the Tok’ra file into the conference room, General Hammond got up from his chair and exited his office.  Seeing the angry look on Jacob Carter’s face and the scared look on Major Carter’s, he had a sinking feeling that something had just blown up.  The sudden appearance of Dr. Warner entering the room and closing the door further escalated that feeling.  “Somebody care to fill me in on what’s going on?” he ordered.

Slamming his fist on the table in anger, Jacob glared at his daughter.  “How long?” Jacob bellowed.

“How long what?” Jack asked in confusion.

“How long has Sam been a host?” Jacob demanded staring at Jack.

Hammond, Dr. Warner, and Jack simultaneously said, “What?”

Seeing that Sam was completely scared, Daniel stood up and addressed the room.  “We only just found out a couple of hours ago, Jolinar is not dead.”  The sudden look of shock that spread throughout the room would have been funny under different circumstances.  Slightly blushing and feeling a tad uncomfortable, Daniel continued.  “She kind of came announced herself in a moment of passion.”

“Let me get this straight,” Hammond interjected, “a couple of hours ago, the Tok’ra that took Major Carter and we all thought was dead, came back to life in a moment of passion?  I think we need a better explanation than that.”

Standing to her feet, Sam’s eyes flashed as Jolinar came forward.  “You will all stop treating my Samantha like this.”  She demanded.  “They did not know that I was not dead, merely in a state of suspension.  The damage the Ashrak did to me was very substantial, but I had just enough energy to shun my outer skin and then go into a deep state of suspension to heal.  My host did not know that I was not dead, and Tauri medicines are not advanced enough to detect that I existed still.  They were only able to detect the decay of my outer skin.”

A look of comprehension and then contriteness passed over Jacob’s face as Selmak took control.  “I must apologize, Samantha, for it was a shock to Jacob and myself when I detected the stronger than usual naquada feelings from you.  My surprise startled your father into acting rashly.”

“It is okay, Selmak.”  Sam responded.  I should have realized that she would have been detected, but she went back to sleep after she awoke and other things came up that pushed it out of our minds.”

“Yeah, we heard the other things.” Jack cracked.

“That is enough, Colonel.” Hammond admonished.  George could not help but notice the sudden blushes that covered the faces of Sam, Daniel, and Freya/Anise.  “Now, would someone please explain to me what happened to “wake” a dead Tok’ra?”

“Sorry, sir.” Sam said apologetically while trying to get her blush under control.  “Daniel, Anise, Freya, and I were uh, exploring our relationship when it happened.  One minute I was me, the next I was Jolinar.”

At that moment, Jolinar took over to help Samantha deal with her awkward feelings.  “Our Daniel brought such pleasure to my Samantha that it woke me from suspended state.” She said looking down at Daniel who appeared to want to disappear under the table.

“Daniel you dog!” Jack exclaimed with a prideful smile.  “Never new you had that in you!”

Daniel felt his face turn red in horror at this being said and suddenly wanted to be back in a coma.  He could not bring him self to look at anyone around the table and starred resolutely at his lap.  Feeling his extreme discomfort, Anise pulled Daniel towards here and gave a quick glare at Jolinar for being so callous.  Even the normally stoic Teal’c seemed to find the floor suddenly very interesting.

“Sorry our Daniel, but they asked for it.” Jolinar stated a little sheepishly.  “A man such as you should not be embarrassed.” She said with a wink.

The sudden cough from Jacob brought everyone’s mind out of the gutter in a rush.  “Excuse me Jolinar, but that is my daughter’s body you are in and that is kind of uncomfortable for a father to hear.” Jacob said looking at her.

            “Forgive me.” Jolinar stated.

“I have heard of only a few Goa’uld that have entered such a deep state of sleep and it took a great shock to the system to wake them.” Teal’c intoned.  “The result of that shock left a wound that had to be healed with a sarcophagus.  I do not see such a wound on ColonelCarter.”

“Uh, no, Teal’c.”  Daniel piped up.  “There was nothing like that used when Jolinar came forward.”

“Then I do not understand how is it that you were able to revive Jolinar if nothing was used?”  Teal’c asked in confusion.  It did not go unnoticed by him that everyone around the table was squirming.  Even Dr. Warner seemed to be having trouble maintaining his composure.

Looking into Daniel’s eyes for forgiveness, Sam was the one to respond to Teal’c.  “Daniel made me climax with such intensity that it was what woke up Jolinar.” She said as she looked only at Daniel and reached for his hand and held it in her’s from the table.

Everyone was so utterly surprised by the statement that it was Selmak who responded, “Damn,” was all that he said before the room fell into fits of laughter at the look on Teal’c’s face.  Even General Hammond had to look away to hide his lost composure.  It took several minutes for those in the room to come back to them selves.

“If this is the case,” Teal’c responded with a slightly pride-filled grin, “then DanielJackson has surpassed even the skills of a Jaffa warrior.”

The ambient air in the room rose several degrees with the profuse blushing that swelled in everyone’s faces.
