What Comes Of Dreams Chapter 10 Tok’ra base… Stepping
out onto the planets surface, the teams quickly took up their posts while they
scanned the area for hostiles. Seeing
close to twenty Jaffa down, SG2 set about tying them up with the new style
bands they all carried. After about 5 minutes,
all of the downed The
groups were no more than a few feet from the rings when Selmak/Jacob held up
their hand to signal them to stop. Using
the slightly enhanced vision provided by being a host, Jacob was able to
discern that there were Making
their way to where he was suppose to take out his targets, everyone stopped in
their tracks when they not only found his targets down, but so was his weapons
and pack. Stepping over to look at the
area more closely, Anise let out an audible squeak when she found Daniel’s
classes on the ground with one of the lenses covered with blood. Jack came running up to her position and
instantly dropped down to examine the glasses. In
the blood that was on the unbroken lens of his glasses, Jack found one of the
SGC subdural transmitters they all had.
Realization sunk in that this had all been a trap to capture
Daniel. Gathering up the equipment, the
group reassembled at the rings and rode down into the tunnels. “Damn
it to hell, this was a setup.” Jack roared. “You
think this was all a ruse to lure SG1 out and capture DanielJackson?” Teal’c
asked solemnly. “Oh yeah.” Jack said
holding his anger in check. “Carter is
going to kill us.” “Maybe
they took him to the rings and down to the tunnels.” Freya broached in a
stressed voice. “Let’s
hope.” Jacob remarked as he started
heading for the rings. Ordering
SG2 to take up positions around the rings, SG1 and the Tok’ra stepped into the
ring circle. Jack knew in his heart that
this was all an attempt for the Goa’uld to get their mits
on Daniel and he just knew it was because word had leaked out about his
possibly retaining ancient knowledge, which he actually no longer had. Upon
entering the tunnels, the group received yet another
shock to see that there was absolutely nobody around…nor any signs of a fight.
Fanning out into two groups, Anise/Freya along with Teal’c went one direction,
while Jacob/Selmak and Jack went another.
They searched room by room and found no bodies, nor any signs of a
battle. Everyone reassembled at the
rings to correlate their findings. “We
found nothing to indicate a battle.”
O’Neill growled in exasperation. Anise’s
head shot up as a thought came to her.
“I need to get to one of the labs.” She yelled as she took off running. Looking
stunned, the group followed hot on her trail as quick as they could run. Reaching the labs, the groups saw her run to
a shelf and pull out some kind of device.
They watched in confusion as Anise turned the device on and was started
walking out into the corridor while looking at the screen of the device. In another uncharacteristic squeak, Anise
turned to the group with horror etched on her face. “Some
of the symbiote poison was used down her.”
Anise said in a hushed voice.
“Someone must have come through and disintegrated the bodies after it
cleared and before we got back.” “That
would not have been possible.” Selmak
replied. “It was not more that twenty minutes
between Per’sus arriving and our departure. Something is not right” All
further conversation halted as the sound of something cracking reached
everyone’s ears. “What
was that?” Jacked asked concerned. “We
have to get out of here, now!” Jacob
yelled as he started running for the rings. As
everyone took off running to the rings, Jack looked back over his shoulder to
see what looked like the tunnels darkening out and disappearing. During the all out run to the rings, nobody
noticed that Freya/Anise had not been with them as she had been stunned by a
trap left in the lab area. Reaching
the rings, everyone dove into the circle and the rings activated to take them
to the surface. Not sparing a moment to yell
anything other than to run, the reunited group ran hell-bent on getting
away. Nobody sparred a second to look
over their shoulders as their heard the awful sounds of ground giving way
behind them. Grabbing his radio, Jack
called ahead of them and ordered SG11 to dial the gate and that they were
coming in fast. Nearing
the gate, Jack motioned for SG11 to get through as the rest of them barreled
through themselves without stopping. Back at the SGC… “What
is the meaning of this?” Per’sus demanded staring at
Samantha/Jolinar. “You
will watch your tone with me, Per’sus.” Jolinar
glared. “I will not have you talk to me
or my host in such a manner.” Stepping
to the door, Jolinar released control to Samantha who then ordered an SF to
escort Per’sus to a VIP room. Turning back around, she addressed the Tok’ra
High Councilor. “Jolinar
and I are worried about our team and friends, and you are stressed about the
near escape. I think it would be better
if you go with the Airman and rest for a bit while we wait on the return of the
rescue party.” Major Carter stated. “I
agree, it will probably be for the best. I will be notified the moment they return.” Per’sus responded. “Of course Per’sus.” Jolinar said
with indignation as she spun around to return to the control room. End Chapter Ten of This story along with all original characters and situations were created
