What Comes Of Dreams Chapter 11 No
sooner had Sam made it into the control room than the gate activated and the
base alarms went off. Looking over MSgt.
Harriman’s shoulder Sam let out a sigh on seeing SG11’s IDC register on the
screen. Heading down to the gateroom, Sam was surprised when General Hammond caught up
with her. Glancing
over her shoulder at him, he saw the question in her eyes. “I
want to be in the room when they come through too…this whole situation, there
is just something wrong with it.” George stated. “I
agree sir, Jolinar keeps telling me that something just does not feel right but
she can not explain it.” Sam replied. Reaching
the gateroom just as the wormhole stabilized,
everyone gasped as they rescue party coming barreling through like the hounds
of hell were on their heels. Watching to
see that everyone came through, it was Sam that screamed out. “Where is Daniel and Anise?” Spinning
on the spot, Jack and Jacob looked through the group to where Anise was, not
seeing her, it was Jolinar that said stunned, “She had
been right behind us when we fled the tunnels.”
Realization donned on the group and Jack dropped to sit on the ramp
hanging his head. “What
is going on Colonel?” General Hammond
asked of the group. “Where are Dr.
Jackson and Anise/Freya?? Looking
up with pain evident in his eyes, Jack responded in a weary voice. “Daniel was captured on the planet’s surface
and Freya/Anise must have been caught in the collapsing tunnels.” Speaking
in an almost dead voice, Jacob addressed George, “If she was caught in the
tunnel collapse, Anise/Freya are gone.” “What
do you mean, gone, Jacob?” Hammond demanded. “When
Tok’ra tunnels collapse, they destroy everything in them as they go.” Jacob said wearily. “It is a self-destruct mechanism.” Everyone
watched in sorrow as Sam spun around and fled the room in tears. “It
was a trap sir.” Jack growled. “I think
they were after Daniel. There were a lot of Taking
a shuddering breath, Jack continued. “In
the tunnels, there was no sign of a fight…nor any
bodies. Anise using a gadget and said
that a symbiote poision had been used down there and
that the bodies must have beep vaporized. We all heard a cracking noise and Jacob
ordered us all to retreat.” “We
thought that Anise was with us as we fled the destruction of the tunnels.”
Jacob said in an emotional voice. “We
did not look as we jumped into the rings and then fled to the gate once we
surfaced. The area where the tunnels
were at was also collapsing.” “Sir,
I think that this was all a big trap to get a hold of Daniel because of the
knowledge he use to have.” Jack sighed.
“Who ever took his is not going to get what they want and they are going
to kill him after they torture him badly.” “Debriefing in one hour everyone. I want you all to report to the infirmary for
post-mission. We will figure out what to
do then.” General Hammond ordered. “George,
I need to find Sam first.” Jacob called after the retreating General. Hammond,
stopped and nodded his head, while gripping his fists so tight that his
knuckles were white, then resumed walking to his office. Sinking
down into his chair after closing his office door, George could barely control
the emotions that were coursing through his body. Muttering to him self, “Every time that poor
man finds happiness…somebody comes along to steal it away. God help him.” Taking
a guess that Sam would head for her quarters, Jacob headed their first. Upon knocking on the door and not getting an
answer, he tried the handle and found it to be unlocked. Looking into the room, he barely made out the
shape of someone curled up in a corner.
“Sammie, mind if I come in?” he called out. Not
lifting her head from her knees, Sam spoke with a tearful voice. “We only just got together after so long….why
couldn’t he stay? Why is it that every
man I love is taken from me dad?” Crossing
the room and dropping down to take his daughter in his arms, Jacob rocked her
like he did when she was a little girl. “I
do not know Sammie, god I wished that I did.
We will find him; he will come back to you.” Jacob cried into the top of her head. “Daniel
Jackson is a strong man and will not be broken Samantha.” Selmak intoned. “The Tok’ra will do all that can be done to
find him and return him to you.” Feeling
her go limp in his arms for a second, Jacob pulled back to look at her in the
dim light cast by the emergency light from the bathroom. He was just in time to see the eyes glow
before Jolinar took control. “My
Samantha is in a great deal of emotional pain.” Jolinar said with a heavy
voice. “I have put her to sleep to calm
her down before she makes us sick.” “That
is a good idea, but you will not be able to keep her like that for long.”
Selmak admonished. “She has to be able
to deal with this.” “I
know that, but it is too fresh and we only just got him back from six months of
being near death. Her mind is still
dealing with the rawness of that time.” Jolinar stated. “I will do what I must to protect my
Samantha.” “I
know that Jolinar. We all will.” Jacob
promised. “I
do not know how to bring this up, but I think it must be looked into
immediately.” Jolinar said gaining
resolve in her voice. “I have this
feeling that something is not right with Per’sus. Add to this feeling that he is the only one
to have arrived from the besieged base.” “I
see where you are going with this Jolinar, but he is the Supreme High Councilor.”
Selmak said taken aback. “We
need to contact the other Tok’ra base, the one that they would have escaped to,
and find out what happened.” Jolinar almost pleaded. “We need to verify his story.” “That
is one hell of an accusation you are making, Jolinar.” Jacob gulped. “If you are thinking what I think you are
thinking….” “It
is not a pleasant thought, but we must check everything after what happened.” Jolinar said with a commanding voice. “I would think that we also need to get word
out amongst our people to find the location of Daniel.” “I
will go speak with General Hammond right now.” Jacob said standing up. “Look after my daughter Jolinar, she will
need you now.” End Chapter Eleven of This story along with all original characters and situations were created
