What Comes Of Dreams Chapter 13 Daniel moaned as he impacted the dirt below
him; whatever had just happened had woken him from the blissfulness of
unconsciousness and into a world of excruciating pain. From the way his body felt, he knew that he
had at least a few broken ribs and a major concussion. Straining his hearing as much as he could to
listen to the sounds around him, Daniel could not detect the existence of
another living thing. Slowly opening his
eyes Daniel was relieved to find that wherever he was, it was dark and he was
alone. Fighting
through the pain and the vertigo that was warring within his body and head,
Daniel leveraged himself up into a sitting position to get a better view of his
surroundings. Looking as much as he
could on his left and right, he found himself surrounded by what looked like a
pit of garbage. “Just
great; they couldn’t get anything useful from me so they tossed me out like a
piece of trash.” Daniel mumbled to himself. Finding
a broken staff weapon next to him, Daniel checked it to see if it worked. In holding with his recent streak of bad
luck, the staff weapon’s power source was gone as was the weapon head. Thinking to him self that he could at least
use it to walk on, he started using it to pull himself up off the ground. As he started to get onto his feet, a wave of
nausea and coupled with a coughing fit because of his broken ribs, Daniel fell
back into the trash heap staring at the sky. As
the fit and nausea subsided, Daniel’s blood ran cold upon hearing the load
keening of some creature. When he
started maneuvering him self into a sitting position to try and be more
defensible, his instincts kicked in telling him that something was close and
getting closer. The physical exertion
coupled with his concussion and other injuries started taking their toll as a
shadow fell across him. Before blackness
fully engulfed him, Daniel looked up and barely comprehended what he was
seeing. Just has he felt himself being
pulled back into nothingness, a name slipped from his lips…”Chaka”. End Chapter Thirteen of This story along with all original characters and situations were created
