What Comes Of Dreams Chapter 31 “I
think that I will gloss over some of the finer points, as right now I can not
deal with them.” Daniel began. “Mostly it was that I was captured zatted by a cloaked Goa’uld moments after I took out my
targets on the Tok’ra planet. I was then
beaten till I was on the verge of death, and then dumped on a planet like so
much garbage…I actually got dropped down a garbage chute.” Daniel smirked. “When
I come to, I found myself being taken care of an
Unas.” Daniel said smiling at Chena,
though the smile never reached his eyes. “And she spoke to me in Englsih…that is after I jumped up out of the bed I was in
and found that I was naked.” Daniel
did not look up from the table to see the looks from his friends and everyone
else. The tight squeeze he got from Sam
let him know that those looks were probably not
kindly. “In
Chena’s defense, she said the clothes were ruined and she had to so she could
cover me in the grok so that I would heal.”
Daniel continued. “After I
recovered at a rather fast rate because of the grok, she brought me the uniform
of a dead Kull warrior and I got dressed.
She had also managed to bring me my vest which had a few things, but
especially my GDO.” I got dressed and
then asked to find the source of the grok so that Sam would be able to study
it.” Daniel said as he gave a brief look
at the love of his life that smiled back at him. “When
we went to the source of the grok, I had just gotten several waterskins full of it when a Goa’uld symbiote towering ten
feet above the water grabbed me and drug me under.” Daniel said with as little
emotion as possible. “I fired blast
after blast from the Kull warrior blasters until the thing let me go and I swam
to the pools edge. Chena pulled me out
of the water just as the symbiote’s blood spilled
into the pool, killing the glowing moss and ruining the grok.” “Chena
and I then made our way back to where I woke and she gathered her stuff so we
could go to the gate.” Daniel rushed
on. He knew that Sam wasn’t buying that
that was all of it by the way she squeezed his hand and harrumphed under her
breath. “It took half a day to make it
to where the poisoned area around the gate was at; the air itself was polluted
so badly it was red in color. Anyhow, I
put on the Kull helmet and we proceeded towards the gate, avoiding the
proximity mines that littered the area.” “Poisoned
area and proximity mines, Daniel I am not liking this picture.” Jack growled out. Shrugging,
Daniel continued on. “There was no other
choice to return home, if we had stayed Goa’uld would have come back to the
planet to make more garbage dumps and may have eventually detected me there. Anyway, we got within a short distance of the
gate when we spotted and were spotted by a Kull warrior. It started shooting so I told Chena to run
while I returned fire. I led the Kull
warrior away and started bringing it towards the last mine we had avoided a
short time back. When I got it to within
about twenty feet of the mine, my weapons ran out of power…so I charged it.” “You
did what!” Jack yelled. “Of all the hair-brain ideas…going
hand-to-hand with a Kull warrior is not even something that Teal’c here would
do!” “Well,
it worked Jack!” Daniel shouted
back. “I had no other choice. I do not know why, but my reflexes were amped
and my strength was too. I was able to
rip the blasters off the Kull warrior and tossed them towards the mine. It punched my in the rib, breaking it and
dropping me to the ground.” The sudden
intake of breath from Sam instantly made Daniel regret saying that. “It went off to get its weapons, so I did a
full title run at it and did a flying drop kick at its back while it was
picking the weapons up. It flew back into
the mine as I hit the ground, the explosion threw me in the air, and then there
was nothing but fire.” As
Daniel looked up from the table after completing his tale, everyone one in the
room was gawping at him…even Chena. The
silence of everyone was starting to scare Daniel, he was thinking he was about
to be in some serious trouble. “If
that is glazing over some of the parts….I imagine that
your full report is going to contain every last detail.” General Hammond said with authority. “Yes
sir, I will not leave anything out.”
Daniel replied. “Holy Hanna!” Jacob
finally exclaimed coming out of his stun, much to the amusement of all those
around him. “You survived being tortured
by a Goa’uld, dumped on a garbage planet, killed a giant symbiote, discovered a
possible curative for most anything, fought hand-to-hand with a Kull warrior no
less, and survived an inferno that makes Netu look
like a bon-fire?” Looking
sheepish, Daniel shrugged. “All in a
days work at the SGC.” Giving
everyone a few minutes to laugh off their nervous energy, Daniel remembered one
of the things that were on his mind.
“General Hammond, I would like permission to take Chena to the planet we
met Chaka on. He was her father and I
thought it only right to bring her back to his clan.” Smiling
at the never changing compassion Daniel always strove to show for others,
General Hammond nodded. “I do not see a
problem with that, when would you like to do that son?” Thinking
for a moment, Daniel looked a little sheepish before looking at the
General. “As soon as
possible; Sir. That would have
been our first stop after I sent the grok through to the SGC.” “You
mean to tell me that you were going to go straight to Chaka’s planet instead of
coming to the SGC?” Sam demanded looking
pissed. “I
did not know how she would be received at the base, and there is another
complication that I was trying to avoid.”
Daniel said meekly. “Would
that complication be that she called you “her Daniel”
in front of me when she did arrive at the SGC?”
Samantha said starting to lose her patience. Quickly
glancing up at an uncomfortable looking Chena, Daniel sighed at this turn of
events. “Yes.” He sighed.
“She kind of let it slip how she felt about me back on the planet while
we were in the caves. I told here that
my heart already belonged to others and she accepted that.” Daniel was no longer looking at Sam for fear
of what he would see. “I
swear, Daniel, I can not let you out of my sight without you finding another
woman.” Sam sneered. “Hell, I even saw the look on that female
Jaffa, Er’ka that is here on the base. I
bet she got an eye full of you with nothing but that helmet and those boots
on!” Daniel
was starting to get that old feeling in the pit of his stomach that told him
things between Samantha and he was over.
He was already dreading returning home knowing how much emptier his life
was going to be over something he had no control over. The general rustling of bodies around the
table told him that things were not good if the men around the table were
fidgeting. “Look
at me, Daniel Jackson!” Samantha
demanded in one of the angriest voices Daniel had ever heard her use towards
him. Raising
his head to look into her eyes, Daniel was caught off guard by the smile on her
face and the love shining in her eyes. “I
love you with all my heart and trust you beyond words.” Sam told him in nearly sultry voice.” Daniel was
still stunned when Sam closed the gap between them and placed a gentle kiss on
his lips. Noticing the look of fear and
heart-ache in Daniel’s eyes and the tears staining his cheeks, Sam had the
sudden feeling that maybe she had pushed too far. “Jolinar
can do quite the alteration to my voice when she wants to have fun, don’t ya
think?” Sam said in a whisper only he
could hear. “I did not mean for this to
hurt you, I am so sorry if I have.” “It is
alright.” Daniel whispered back. “It was stupid of me to think that you were
going to ….” “Oh
Daniel, I would never hold you responsible for the feelings of others towards
you.” Sam whispered nearly crying
herself. “I know that you would never be
unfaithful to your love for me.” Trying to
dispel the sudden heavy feelings in the air, Jack made a mental note to have a
discussion with his 2IC about treating Daniel with a bit more delicacy, he
piped in. “Now that that is out of the
way, what do you say we close this debrief and get on with getting Chena home
to the other Unas?” End Chapter Thirty-One of This story along with all original characters and situations were created
