What Comes Of Dreams Chapter 34 While
everyone else filed out of the conference room and headed to the gate room,
Jack took a moment to duck out and go talk with General Grange. Finding the General in the control room
simplified the issue and Jack nodded for him to step out of earshot of the
others. “What
can I do for you, Colonel O’Neill?”
General Grange asked with a bit of puzzlement. “Sir,
would it be possible to have the part where Daniel single-handed fought the
three Marines sent to the SGC?” Colonel
O’Neill inquired. “What
would be the reason for this particular video to be sent, Jack?” General Grange asked dropping the
professional bull. “There
are a few others in the SGC that treat Daniel much the same as those Marines
did. They have already subjected him to
at least one blanket party that I have now confirmed, and I suspect at least
one other.” Jack said letting his
protective side show. “I intend that the
next safety briefing for the Marines on base will have a little extra in the
footage.” “A little discouragement to head off any retaliation on behalf of
these particular Marines for being dismissed?” Max asked with a smile. “Yeah,
something like that, Sir.” Jack said grinning. “I was going to get Walter to put the video
footage in and then have the Marines go through their
“safety training” before word of what happened here got back to them. “Sounds
like a plan, Jack, though I do not know how much fear you need to have for
Doctor Jackson.” Max said looking
thoughtful. “It looks like that young
man has learned a thing or two in his time around you.” “I
wish I could take credit for that.” Jack said looking a little humble. “Teal’c and I have only shown him a few
things…he has never shown that kind of skill in our training sessions.” “Well,
maybe recent events have shaken him from his shell. He does seem to be a bit reserved and overly
modest.” Max said shrugging. “You
do not know the half of it. Thanks
Max.” Jack said shaking General Grange’s
hand and then heading to the gate room. Jack
had just made it to the gate room with the seventh chevron locked and the gate
opened with its normal splendor. Seeing
the cat-that-got-the-crème smile on Jack’s face, Sam stepped to Daniel’s other
side and leaned in towards Jack. “Do I
want to know why you are grinning like the cat-that-ate-the-canary?” “I
will tell you about it after this mission is finished, Carter.” Jack said while his normal blank facade
slipped into place. “All
right campers, lets go to Unas land!”
Jack declared as he walked up the ramp and through the puddle. End Chapter Thirty-Four of This story along with all original characters and situations were created
