Chapter Fifteen

Nick sat on his bed staring at the cube sitting on the desk. He could not believe that his grandson would have left him a message after so many years, and what he had done to him.

“It is alright Nick.” a disembodied voice said from the direction of the desk just moments before an image of Daniel appeared. “I understand how important your career was to you. I suffer from that myself it seems.”

“Over the years I have often thought about how things happened in my life and I do not hold you at fault for any of it.” the image said with a smile. “You were not prepared to raise a child, especially not one such as my self. I was a handful for my parents, I would have been more so for you who was not use to children.”

“Do not think that I do not forgive you, for I do. Further, I still love you very much.” Daniel’s image said in all honesty.

“I really do not know what else to say, Nick. I only hope that this has found you to be in good health and that you having been able to at long last find what you sought your entire career for. I have found that and more in my own.”

The image faded from view as the cube changed to display the image of the crystal skull within.
