Time & Time Again Chapter Four Wanting to find out if Sam and Janet were on the ship, Daniel started making his way towards the peltac where he hoped to overhear some mention of where they may be. So wrapped up in the hope that the two women were still alive, Daniel did not notice that the doors did not open for him…he simply walked through them. When he reached the central junction where the elevator was that would traverse the height, and depth, of the ship Daniel froze as he heard the heavy clank of Jaffa armor coming towards him. Jumping behind a support beam, Daniel watched as the squad of Jaffa followed behind a gaudily dressed woman wearing a Roman style Toga and carrying a crystalline rod similar to the one he had found. As he watched the group pass by, Daniel saw that they were dragging the unconscious bodies of both Sam and Janet. They looked like hell! Multiple bruises and still bleeding cuts covered the faces, arms, and legs of both women. Instinctively he knew that they were not dead, but for how long they would stay that way he had no idea. Muttering to himself, Daniel vowed to find them and get them home. As if she heard him, the Roman Toga clad woman stopped and spun to look in his direction. Pointing the rod towards the beam that he was hiding behind, the woman’s eyes began to glow and a smile spread across her face. “You, you are the one that stole my scepter!” Bellona growled at Daniel. “Return it to me or your friends will suffer. Bring the scepter back to my temple from where you stole it or I will kill your friends and then I will find and kill you.” Seeing where their mistress was looking, several of the Jaffa spun around to face the beam with their staff weapons at the ready. Not seeing anyone there, the Jaffa warriors looked at their mistress as if she had lost her mind. Knowing that the Jaffa could not see what she did, Bellona only spun around and continued in the direction she had been headed. Hearing that the Jaffa were not moving with her, she shouted behind her as she walked, “Jaffa kree!” This brought the Jaffa out of their stun and they again followed Bellona down the corridor, dragging Sam and Janet with them. With a gasp of breath, Daniel found himself still sitting in his office with his arm cocked back to throw the crystalline rod in his hand. Recovering his wits, Daniel got up from his chair and ran from his office to talk with General Hammond. As Daniel ran through the corridors to do the elevator, the personnel he passed looked after him as if he had suddenly lost his mind. Sliding to a stop in front of the elevator, Daniel kept pressing the down button, willing the elevator to get to him faster. Just as the doors began to open, Daniel was pressing himself into the crowd and barked for the gate-room level. Not knowing what was going on, but seeing that “the Dr. Jackson” was agitated about something, the airman next to the buttons pressed the floor and pressed himself further against the wall in case Daniel truly was flipping out. As the elevator reached the gate-room level and the doors opened, Daniel once again raced down the corridor to Hammond’s office. Not even bothering to knock, Daniel threw General Hammond’s office door open and stormed into the room. He stopped just short of the desk when he saw that Selmak was sitting in front of the desk, opposite of the General. “General, they are alive…all of them are alive!” Daniel blurted out. “Who is alive Dr. Jackson?” the General responded with aggravation at having been interrupted. “Jack, Sam, Teal’c, Janet, and SG-10, they are all alive…I have seen them!” Daniel practically yelled. “Daniel, that is impossible.” Selmak spoke up, “I have seen the scans of the planet that SG-10 was on myself, and nothing could have survived that.” Waving his hands around with the rod still in his right hand, Daniel began to pace the floor in front of Hammond and Selmak. “I don’t care what you saw Selmak, I have seen them and I have seen Bellona. She knows that I have her scepter and she wants it back.” “What scepter, Dr. Jackson? What do you mean you have seen them, how?” General Hammond said rising from his desk with the intention of calming Daniel down. “I do not know how I saw them, I just know that I did. I was sitting at my desk getting ready to look for the information you asked me to find, when I found this on my desk.” Daniel said holding up the crystalline rod. “I do not know how it ended up on my desk, I am sure I left it behind after we found it and then that planet was overrun with Jaffa fighting one another. Somehow, Bellona must have recouped SG-1 and captured SG-10 along with Janet. She has them aboard her ship and is headed back to the planet we found this at.” Daniel rambled waving the rod around in the air. Reaching for the thing that Daniel was waving around, Jacob Carter grabbed the scepter and was knocked back into the chair he had been sitting in when everything that Daniel had scene flashed through his mind. Seeing what had happened to Jacob/Selmak, General Hammond stopped where he was at and tried to take in what he had heard and seen. It was Selmak, not Jacob, which first spoke. “It is true General, they are alive, and I just saw what Dr. Jackson has experienced. I do not know how to explain what has happened, but somehow Dr. Jackson has used that artifact to see beyond what and where we can. Somehow his vision was transferred to us.” Selmak said with wonder in his voice. “Never have I experienced something like this. It is both interesting and disconcerting at the same time.” “In my vision, Bellona had another scepter like this one. I have no idea how this happened; all I know is that we must rescue them. General.” Daniel implored. “I agree, if what you and Selmak say is true, we must get our people back.” Hammond responded. “Selmak, do the Tok’ra still have a ship in the area of the planet that was destroyed, it is in the same system as the planet where SG-1 was killed…err lost?” “I believe they are still in orbit.” Selmak stated. “What do you have in mind, George?” Jacob asked. “If we can get a team aboard Bellona’s ship while she is on the planet with Dr. Jackson, we may stand a good chance of rescuing all of our people.” Hammond laid out. “If the Tok’ra would be willing to help us with this and the strike team uses those arm bands to hide from the Goa’uld sensors, I should be able to keep Bellona distracted for a little while.” Daniel surmised. “The Tok’ra will help with this General Hammond.” Selmak reported. “We can have the strike team meet with the ship at another planet within the system so as not to be detected. We should be able to get them aboard Bellona’s ship without a problem.” “I will send SG-12 with Daniel and have Marine-12 meet with the Tok’ra ship. Selmak, you find a gate address within a short distance to the target for them to gate to.” Hammond ordered. “Daniel, get down to the armory and get ready…you leave in 10 minutes.” Picking up the phone, General Hammond called his aid. “Get Marine-12 and SG-12 suited up and to the gate-room. They disembark in 10 minutes.” “If you do not mind, George, Selmak and I will go to gate-control and get the proper coordinates for the pickup point.” Jacob said. “That is fine Jacob, thank you.” General Hammond said with a nod. “I will get suited up!” Daniel called back as he sprinted from the room. Shaking their heads, Jacob/Selmak and General Hammond exited the room only a few minutes behind Daniel. The sounds of the call through the mountain for SG-12 and Marine-12 to prepare for disembark echoed throughout the SGC corridors. By the time that Daniel came running into the gate-room, Marine-12 and Selmak/Jacob were already entering the gate for their rendezvous with the Tok’ra ship. Stopping next to the leader of SG-12, Daniel could sense that everyone was ready and willing to go to hell and back for the chance to take out another Goa’uld and rescue their captured comrades. As the last of the strike team disappeared through the event horizon, the gate was disengaged and started dialing again. Walking in through the blast door of the gate-room, General Hammond approached SG-12 and Daniel. “I do not have to tell you this, but given the chance…take out this Goa’uld. Do not let her get away!” General Hammond said with barely controlled anger. Just as he finished saying these words, the gate whooshed open and the event horizon stabilized. “God speed and good hunting, SG-12.” General Hammond said as was the expected send off. SG-12 and Daniel walked up the ramp and into the event horizon, every one of them determined to make the Goa’uld bitch pay for her crimes against the universe. End Chapter Four Of
